Always love stopping at Mackay for the famous patties and good slices. That said; at 4.47+tax for each it’s pretty steep for something that’s just pretty good. Certainly wouldn’t eat here often but it’s a solid treat once in a while
A staple of the community, having served Brampton for decades, there isn't anywhere else you can get a better slice. Their Sicilian Style pizza is unmatched, not to mention their absolutely delicious patties and subs! Thank you to the entire Mackay team for all that they do on a daily basis to provide us with the utmost quality and care.
TL;DR Easy to find. Lots of parking. Run down. Popular. Mid pricing. Okay pizza. Decent patties. Location: The restaurant is pretty easy to find as it's in a strip mall and their sign is pretty visible. There is plenty of parking as it shares the area with many businesses and community centre right next door. It's a bit run down and bare bones; think of a typical high school pizza shop. Food: I got the "Mackay Patty w. Cheese, Lettuce & Mayo" ($4.47+tax). It was pretty good but you barely taste the cheese. I got a "Hawaiian Pizza Slice" ($4.87+tax) but found it to be nothing special with the crust being chew, cheese is thick and pineapples were canned. However, the slice was pretty large. Service: They accept cash, credit and debit. They also have washrooms in the back.
Mackay's is definitely one of the best pizzas in Brampton, and I've recommended this location immediately after the first bite. I visited with a friend who is also very critical when it comes to pizza. We ordered a medium with extra cheese and extra pepperoni. Our pizza hit higher than our expectations as the ingredients were fresh, and the dough was done perfectly from scratch. 10/10 will definitely return.
I had a small Sicilian. Too salty. But it’s ok. Lots of veggies and cheese. Crust is thin. I like thick crust. It’s crispy. I like softer crust.
